My interest in teaching and instructional design started in 2017, when I attended Keegan Long-Wheeler and John Stewart’s GOBLIN professional development community. This series changed my views on education and was the primary reason I decided to persue higher education over research.

After completing my Ph.D. in 2019 (dissertation), I joined the Department of Biological Sciences at Mississippi State University. Since then, I’ve redesigned components of five courses using a gamification approach. The response from the students has been incredible, both in terms of engagement and learning outcomes.
